About Chris
I am currently a Civil Service Fast Streamer with past experience as an employment mentor and youth employability coach. I have coaching experience at GCSE, A-Level and Degree level. I have coached people at all ages and levels to achieve their career goals and to unlock their potential. I am a School Governor which gives me a unique insight into schools and education. I am very happy to adapt my approach to you. I am passionate about coaching as I believe that the key benefit of tutoring is to enable you to learn and grow outside our session together. I specialise in building confidence and motivation for your studies and enjoy finding ways to explain concepts, delve into tough subjects and enjoy learning more. When not working, tutoring or coaching I love spending time reading, dreaming and travelling.

Learning in any capacity can be hard, it can be difficult to grasp concepts, motivate yourself and bring everything together in the end to succeed. That's why I take a person-centred coaching approach to tutoring, we go from where you're at. I help you to get your head around what you can't understand and to feel more confident going into exams and assignments/coursework. I am a supporting and encouraging tutor who believes that everyone can achieve and has huge potential. I offer a tailored service but typical sessions would include time spent reinforcing key concepts and understanding, extra time for things causing extra difficulty and time spent helping with exam and assessment preparation. I also think it is important to spend time focusing on mindset and self-confidence as these make the difference in any exam as well as for life in general. On request, I can offer bespoke careers sessions alongside subject coaching to help you reach your goals. I know this can be most impactful at degree and A-level but it can help set the direction for GCSE Students - especially those considering the benefits of A-levels or vocational courses. Note - I am new to this platform and am very grateful for reviews or feedback, however never hesitate to raise any questions or queries if needed.
