About Walter
I've been tutoring students since 2017, including HSC students through established tutoring centres and private lessons. I hold a Bachelor of Science with majors in Immunology & Pathology and Infectious Diseases, and achieved a GAMSAT result in the 99th percentile.
I enjoy helping students get past the point where Biology feels like a collection of facts to memorise and start understanding how the concepts fit together. I'm patient and approachable. My aim is to help students become more confident, improve their performance and learn to work through questions independently.
My main focus is Year 11–12 HSC Biology. I also offer tutoring in selected university science subjects, particularly immunology, pathology and infectious diseases.

Lessons are tailored to the student's current understanding, goals and upcoming assessments. I first identify areas that need work, then break down difficult concepts into clear explanations and build towards applying that knowledge independently.
For HSC Biology, lessons can cover content revision, difficult topics, practice and exam-style questions, written responses, assessment preparation and exam technique. Rather than simply telling students what the correct answer is, I work through the reasoning behind it and help them understand how to approach unfamiliar questions.
I also encourage students to explain concepts in their own words. This helps uncover gaps in understanding and shows whether they can apply what they've learned, rather than just recognise information they've memorised.
For university science tutoring, sessions can be tailored to the specific subject, course content and areas the student is finding challenging. Lessons are typically 60 minutes, with longer sessions available where appropriate.
