About Louis
My name is Louis, more recently recognised by my artist alias Xaetis. I started producing back in college in 2016, I learnt the ropes on Logic 9 for the first 2 years figuring out most of the basics from lessons but primarily from my own drive and fascination for creating sound. But my passion for music production really started taking shape when I left for University in 2018 and picked up Ableton for the first time. After living in Bristol for a few months and experiencing the rave culture I became drawn to Drum and Bass music and dedicated my path to this genre using my vast range of inspirations to create drum and bass that was unique and stood out from the rest. Since 2018 I have relentlessly pursued my addiction to sound and music and improved my skills as a producer, artist and DJ. As a result of this the last 3 years have been filled with bookings at festivals such as Darkshire in the Woods in the Czech Republic and Neuroheadz festival, as well as headline shows in London, Edinburgh and Paris. I believe there's always more for me to learn, even after 8 years of working at my craft. However, I feel like the things I have already learnt, gathered and discovered so far - things that I wished I had known sooner! Deserve to be shared for the next generations of artists and music producers struggling to find their feet in a world of information sensory overload and people selling you their presets, chord and sound packs without ever teaching you what they've done, how they've done it and most importantly. Why? My goal with becoming a tutor is to be able to help people who want to find their own sound, discover it, and propel it into their music so that they may enjoy it as much as I do. Because once you see how easy making good music that comes from you can be. That's when the fun of endless possibilities really kicks in!

Whatever level you may be at, I'm able to teach you the following: Beginner (The fundamentals/the basics and establishing an efficient workflow within the DAW) - Knowing your way around the DAW and learning what the most important plug-ins, effects and workflow are is a crucial first step into the world of production, without these as a foundation, music production will seem like a daunting mountain to climb. Intermediate (more extensive sound design techniques, synthesis, layering, sidechain) - For more adept producers that already know their way around the DAW. Understanding the 'trial and error' process of sound design and learning how to figure out what to do and what not to do when synthesising and layering sounds is the next step. I will teach you how to bend audio to your will and create any sound from a single source of audio using the tools available to you within Ableton Live. Advanced (Arrangement, composition, Mixing and Mastering, + ) This level is for experienced sound designers and producers who are looking for knowledge on how to bring all these techniques together into one unified piece of music. Focusing on mixdown techniques and practices to aid in better, louder and clearer masters. My teachings will explore a more creatively subjective outlook on production and focus on my own methods of problem-solving when working on and creating music for students who are interested in my work and want to learn more about my thought process behind it. I have previously conducted 15 hours of 1-2-1 lessons spread over 6 peers who wanted to learn from my skills but never had time to do more because of other work engagements, however, having recently left my previous job I have more time to fully commit to teaching what I love most in the world. Music Production Lessons can be between 1 to 3 hours long Remote Lessons (Zoom/Discord)

Louis has an incredible ear for music, and an in-depth knowledge of sound design processes. I had a couple of lessons from him as quite a newbie into the production journey and learnt so much. I know that he would be good for more advanced producers due to his many years of experience and technical processes. I have been a big fan of louis music for years, and have even more appreciation for his work after seeing the processes he uses. All round lovely guy, clear in his teachings, and very patient. Suitable for all skill levels and is very versatile in his music. 10/10.
One of the best producers I’ve met alone the way and is the go to man for any issue i have. Would highly recommend for anything looking to learn the technical side to electronic music production.
