About Courtney
I began my teaching journey back in 2016, when I undertook a work experience placement at Basingstoke College of Technology. I spent two weeks tutoring students seeking a future career in music technology. I carried out workshops and tasks that helped students unleash their creativity! During 2020, I undertook an opportunity during my degree to tutor Fresher students joining the music course I was on. I led various workshops and lessons with small groups of students helping them engage with the topic, whilst understanding the methodologies required of them. Individuals who required extra support, were offered 1 - 1 lessons to help improve their confidence with the task, and improve on areas of weakness. After completing my degree, I began creating my own English workshops online. I began tutoring children via zoom covering all areas of the subject. Each lesson contained a powerpoint breaking down the topic, Some lessons contained interactive games to boost student engagement and create a fun way of learning complex topics. Nothing inspires me more than seeing students excel both academically and personally with confidence. I believe each lesson creates an ever lasting impact on their future.

I believe the purpose of teaching is to provide a learning experience as unique as the student. Each student has an individual strategy towards their learning, therefore I ensure each lesson is tailored towards the student's academic capabilities. I use proven teaching methodologies to create individual lessons that produce outstanding results. Each lesson is 40 minutes in duration. I currently obtain a BA (Hons) in Digital Music, which also provides me with a higher national certificate of education. I have extensive experience teaching adult students preparing for their degree, as well as younger students aged between 4 - 11. I am also an experienced SEND tutor, working with students with complex learning difficulties. My current lessons are designed for ages between 4 - 18
