About John
I am a dedicated flute tutor who loves helping students discover their musical potential. My teaching philosophy combines creativity, mentorship, critical thinking, and accountability. I focus on developing tone, phrasing, rhythm, and breath control while nurturing expressive playing. I also include music theory, sight-reading, and ear training to strengthen overall musicianship. Creativity is a central part of my lessons, including improvisation, small compositions, and musical storytelling. I guide students to set goals, practice consistently, and stay accountable. Mistakes are treated as opportunities for learning and growth. I adapt lessons to each student’s pace, level, and interests. I also teach related subjects such as theory, performance preparation, and rhythm. I create a positive and supportive environment where students feel comfortable experimenting. I teach flute with a focus on creativity, responsibility, and personal growth. I believe that learning music should be both enjoyable and meaningful. Each lesson combines structured practice with creative exploration. I mentor students to think critically about music and develop their own unique sound. I emphasise curiosity, reflection, and problem-solving in every lesson. I create a supportive and encouraging environment where students can thrive. Along with flute, I teach related subjects like theory, rhythm, and performance preparation. My goal is to inspire confidence, creativity, and a lifelong love of music.
