About Sas
My name is Salim Kounaweh. I am from Togo, a French-speaking country in West Africa. I came to the United States in 2011. I started college that same year. During my time in college, I spent my undergrad on research and tutoring. As a Chemistry tutor, I assess students' progress throughout tutoring sessions and provide feedback, which includes positive reinforcement techniques to encourage, motivate, and build confidence in them. In 2014, I had the opportunity to work as a research intern in the lab of Dr. Ninche Alston at Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine, in the Department of Oral Biology and Pathology, investigating the diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. I graduated with my Bachelor of Science (B.S) in Biochemistry. Detailed on my attached CV is a solid background in molecular cell biology with experience working with research animal models.
