About Carlos
¡Hola! I'm Carlos Rodríguez, and I am passionate about sharing the beauty of the Spanish language and culture with my students. Born and raised in Madrid, Spain, I developed a deep appreciation for the rich history, diverse traditions, and vibrant language of my homeland.
I pursued my Bachelor's degree in Spanish Literature at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid before embarking on a journey to explore different Spanish-speaking countries. This experience allowed me to witness the cultural nuances and variations in the language spoken across regions, enriching my understanding of the linguistic tapestry.
With a commitment to fostering a love for language learning, I completed my Master's in Education with a focus on Spanish as a second language. I believe in creating a dynamic and engaging classroom environment where students feel inspired to communicate and express themselves in Spanish.
My teaching philosophy is centered on the idea that language acquisition is not just about memorizing grammar rules but immersing oneself in the language through real-life scenarios and cultural experiences. I incorporate multimedia resources, literature, music, and interactive activities to make the learning process enjoyable and effective.
In addition to my role as a Spanish teacher, I actively participate in community events that promote cultural exchange and understanding. I also organize study abroad programs to give students the opportunity to experience the language and culture firsthand.
Join me on this exciting journey of language exploration, and let's discover the richness of the Spanish-speaking world together. ¡Vamos a aprender español!

Daily Routine - Rutina Diaria
Objective: Students will be able to talk about their daily routines in Spanish.
Warm-Up (5 minutes):
Greet the students in Spanish.
Ask students about their day so far using simple Spanish greetings. For example, "¿Cómo estás hoy?" (How are you today?)
Introduction (10 minutes):
Introduce the vocabulary related to daily routines. Include verbs such as despertarse (to wake up), levantarse (to get up), ducharse (to shower), vestirse (to get dressed), desayunar (to have breakfast), etc.
Use visual aids like pictures or a daily routine chart to reinforce the vocabulary.
Activity 1: Vocabulary Practice (15 minutes):
Have students practice the new vocabulary through various activities. For example, a matching game where they match the Spanish word to the corresponding picture or a fill-in-the-blank exercise with sentences about daily routines.
Grammar Focus (10 minutes):
Introduce reflexive verbs by explaining that many daily routine activities in Spanish are reflexive. Use examples like "Me lavo las manos" (I wash my hands) or "Nos cepillamos los dientes" (We brush our teeth).
Practice conjugating reflexive verbs with different pronouns.
Activity 2: Speaking Practice (15 minutes):
Divide the class into pairs or small groups.
Have students create short dialogues about their daily routines using the vocabulary and reflexive verbs they've learned.
Encourage them to include details like the time they do each activity.
Review and Homework (5 minutes):
Review key concepts and vocabulary from the lesson.
Assign homework, such as writing a paragraph about their own daily routine using the new vocabulary and reflexive verbs.
Closure (5 minutes):
Ask students to share one interesting thing they learned during the lesson.
Provide positive feedback and encourage questions.
