About Sally

Passionate, knowledgeable, and dedicated—I’m a history tutor who truly loves helping students unlock the stories of the past. With a perfect 5 on both AP US Government and AP World History, along with a consistent track record of straight A’s in every history class since middle school, I bring both expertise and enthusiasm to every lesson. My approach is student-first: I listen, adapt, and tailor lessons to fit your unique learning style—whether you need help with exam prep, essay writing, or just making sense of complex historical events. I combine clear explanations, engaging visuals, and interactive discussions to make history not just understandable, but exciting.

About the lesson

Hello! My tutoring approach is personalized, interactive, and student-centered because every learner is unique!

My Teaching Method & Techniques:

We’ll start with a free 15-20 minute trial session to assess strengths, weaknesses, and learning style.

Lessons are visually engaging (PowerPoint/Canva presentations, maps, timelines) but also discussion-based to deepen understanding.

I incorporate active recall techniques (quizzes, summaries) and real-world connections to make history relatable.

A Typical Lesson Plan:

Quick Review: Recap previous material to reinforce memory.
Focused Topic: Dive into the day’s subject with clear explanations and multimedia resources.
Interactive Practice: Analyze primary sources, debate perspectives, or map historical events.
Q&A + Progress Check: Address questions and adjust pacing as needed.

What Sets Me Apart:

Perfect 5s on AP US Gov & AP World History and straight A’s in all history classes—I know what examiners look for!
Tailored for YOUR needs: No rigid scripts—I adapt to your goals (test prep, essay help, or general mastery).
Multidisciplinary links: Connect history to psychology, geography, and current events for richer learning.

Who Are My Lessons For?

Middle/High School: Covering world history, US history, social studies, and AP prep.
Struggling Students: Breaking down complex topics into manageable steps.

Let’s make history engaging and successful!

Sally previously tutored my 11th grade daughter, Jenna, for her advanced Spanish class as she wasn't doing too well. Jenna also had two tutors before Sally. Safe to say she went from nearly failing to getting high B's as her lowest grades. Jenna adored her tutor's teaching style and fun presentations. "My favorite tutor" -Jenna

As her former Spanish teacher, Sally is exceptional, consistent, and always willing to help those in and out of her class. I always compare her pronunciation to that of a native speaker. Truly a phenomenal Spanish speaker!
