I establish culminating events in history and explore how they affected later events. I treat history as very much a subject of exploration as indeed I am discovering new information myself on this subject all the time. And, as what was previously thought to be the case and has since been revised, I too am constantly revising my own knowledge in order to better understand the past. I believe this is essential if we are to make any sense of the present or to make reasonably accurate predictions about the future.
