About Alanya
I am a current history student at UCL and did English Literature, History and Psychology at A Level, achieving an A*, A, A respectively. I have tutored to refugees with UNHCR in various subjects including English, maths and history which taught me a great deal about tutoring children. Furthermore, I have worked with children as a babysitter and tutor which entailed helping with homework mainly. My experience with older students is largely at GCSE level, I assisted in teaching lessons in Psychology as well as running one-to-one help to students. I saw huge improvements in the children I worked with and helped them to develop better studying habits.

For younger children I speak to parents about what areas they need to focus on such as spelling or reading and for students taking exams I will follow their curricula. My personal approach is that all children learn differently and so I try to tailor the type of learning to the individual child and come up with creative ways to learn. I do not believe in memorising information and instead try to engage in active learning.
