About Elliot
I am a student in my last year of A-Levels. I have completed GCSE's (and can send transcripts) achieving eight Grade Nine’s and two Grade Eight’s and 100% in GCSE History. I am studying History, Geography and English A-Levels. My area of interest is primarily history, but I am comfortable with the humanities in general. I have taught for a summer at a primary school (and can provide references). I also have high levels of experience in writing for Oxbridge Essay Competitions, and I have been awarded accredations in three such competitions.

I prefer to try and stimulate as closely as possible a university style tutorial. To do this I would ask a tutee to complete work (like background reading or a watching a documentary) prior to the tutorial. I would then challenge the tutee to defend certain their ideas and thoughts on the topic. The benefits of this is that the sessions are highly intense, and far more intellectually stimulating than a tutor merely lecturing an individual. Particularly for humanities, the debating and testing of ideas is crucial for improving the quality of examination answers. It also maximises the value of the interaction time because it offers a service that a pupil cannot complete by themselves.
