About Matthew Mason
I am currently a sophomore at Vanguard University, where I am majoring in History/Political Science and minoring in Mathematics. I received the Presidential Centennial Academic Scholarship, Vanguard's most prestigious scholarship. Before Vanguard, I studied at a private high school that uses the same academic style I use in my lessons. At the school, I received their most prestigious writing award in my senior year and worked as a TA at the school during my freshman year of college.

I begin by creating a reading list based on the student's skill, interests, and academic needs. Common authors for this list include C.S. Lewis, T.S. Elliott, Plato, Dante, Aquinas, Edmund Burke, U.S. founding fathers, and early church father.
Once I create the reading list, I will create a schedule where the student will read between 25 and 100 pages each week.
Meetings with students will comprise socratic dialogue about the the assigned book. At the beginning, I want to make sure the student adequately understands the book. Then, I instructed the student to persuasively explain the book. I will also instruct the student to write essays to enhance to two skills previously mentioned.
