About Lois
I am a History graduate from the University of Leeds that has been personal tutoring for around six months with children of a high-school/secondary level. This tutoring has predominantly been in English and History. However, I am also interested in expanding this to Politics, for students that are studying Government and Politics at A-level. I would also like to help students with the university/UCAS application process including their research, interview preparation, and personal statements. Throughout my University degree, I was also a Peer Mentor for the School of History which included supporting students with essay-writing, revision, module enrolment and much more. Rest assured that I have the experience necessary to help you achieve your goals! Currently, I work full-time at the Grimsby Institute of Further and Higher Education and The Academy Grimsby as a Data Coordinator, but this often involves working with students and teachers and providing support.

I currently give lessons to secondary school students but I'm interested in tutoring beyond that, to students that are currently undergoing their A-levels or are in University, if they are studying in my strongest areas of History and Politics. This could include looking over essay plans, making recommendations, offering sources for a student to look at that would help with research. My teaching method is relatively relaxed - I approach everything in an organised fashion to ensure that the student that I am tutoring doesn't become overwhelmed. As a result, only one 'topic' will be approached at a time. I then offer additional email support with each topic and increase support accordingly where necessary, such as when a student has an upcoming test.
