About Adam

My interest in history began in senior school where I was fortunate enough to have amazing teachers who
enabled me to witness firsthand the importance of teachers in unlocking students’ potential. Their talents inspired me to take a history degree but also inspired me to want to teach and help others learn and be the best they can be.

In history I am fascinated by the huge array of information available to read and decipher – be it factual analyses as well as fictional tales and biblical myths. Collecting evidence to present arguments is both demanding and exciting
and has taught me the need to digest, listen, negotiate and persuade.

It has left me with a love of history and a
desire to impart what I have learned and inspire others on their educational journey.

Having worked with children as part of Camp America and as a hockey development coach I have a lot of experience in working with children from ages 7-17.
From my experience I understand the most important feature of education - interest.
My methodology is about gauging interest. If somebody has no interest or is struggling to find an interest in a subject, topic or essay then I will be able to help.

I will always ensure I bring an enthusiastic approach to teaching which allows myself and the student to enjoy the session. Also, by attributing the history to a students own experiences, recollections or interests and making it so a student can freely debate with myself. This will allow the student to garner a greater appreciation of history giving him/her transferable skills which will assist them in their futures.

All of my lessons will include a word document that I would have compiled before which will allow them to be ready for a lesson and then can refer to the notes after the lesson. Document will include:
- Background to the topic and why that is important.
- What we are going to learn.
- Interesting facets in the topic.
-How to prepare for tests/essays
- can include any information you feel is necessary

Areas of Specialism.
- 20th Century Europe
- Ancient Greece, Persia and Rome
- British social, political and economic history from 19th century (Particularly around WWII and the NHS)
- 20th Century wars and conflicts
- European Politics
- Russia in revolution, Vikings, Aztecs, Spain from 1469
Enjoy reading history extensively so will be able to learn and teach a topic with relative ease that I previously wouldn't have known much about.
