About Morgan
Graduate with a 2:1 in History from the University of Durham. Recently concluded studying an MA in Postproduction.
I have grown up surrounded by a love for History, which translated into my studies at School and University. I wish to use the time I have now to use my passion and skills to help others. For me being a Tutor the opportunity to share my love and experience of learning with another, to help them excel and achieve the best they can!
I currently have experience tutoring AQA A-Level and GCSE History, with focuses on both content learning and revision/assessment skills. Additionally, I have experience tutoring for 11 Plus English, with particularly focus in paper practice and comprehension.
I have also lead reading and art groups on a weekly basis during the current lockdown. These hour long sessions involved preparing fun and engaging activities for children age 5-10, and provided a space to develop their creativity and learning.
My approach to tutoring is adaptability, guiding the sessions according to the individual needs of the student. First I will look to understand exactly where the student feels they need academic support, whether it be in essay-writing, content engagement, revision techniques, or multiple areas of learning. I would also identify the areas they are demonstrating confidence and enthusiasm in, to fully understand their engagement with the subject and their character as a student.
Additionally, I would intend to identify the type of learning the student excels with, whether it be visual, auditory, or kinaesthetic. From this we can use sessions to help focus and develop the aspects of study and learning they need support with.
I would also vary the session by paying attention to the student's strengths and interests, allowing these to be maintained and enhanced to ensure their passion for their subject and learning can be nurtured.
