About Laura
I am a graduate of the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, where I studied History of Art, Architecture and Archaeology. Specialisms included a history of the Middle East, Africa, and Asia, Islamic Studies, and Islamic Architecture and Archaeology, amongst others. I obtained a strong knowledge of the history of these regions, along with the politics and culture.
Experience since my degree includes tutoring, working as a Research Assistant for an Islamic Art Specialist, and writing art reviews on contemporary Islamic art.
Prior to my degree studies, I also studied Classical Civilisations, which has endowed me with an excellent knowledge of Classical art, architecture and culture.

I enjoy teaching children of all ages, and adults who are working towards higher education qualifications. I have significant experience coaching for GCSE, AS and A-Level, and the International Baccalaureate. I am equally comfortable with individual and group lessons, and adjust the classes accordingly.
It's vital to ensure that both tutor and pupil are aware of the goal we are working towards, and that there is a clear structure to the learning. However, I remain aware of the immediate needs of the pupil, and ensure that lessons can be easily adjusted to accommodate this.
