About Chris
I have been teaching history and politics for six years across three schools in the South of England, both independent and state.
History and Politics are both inherently interesting subjects but also inherently challenging, as they include high order skills.
It's my job firstly, to engage students, and secondly, to work on these challenging skills so they can realise their full potential in the subjects. It's something I do day in, day out.

History and Politics are fascinating, yet challenging subjects, and I aim to make lessons engaging, academically rigorous, and tailored to each individual students' needs. I am able to teach the main three exam boards (OCR, AQA, Edexcel, up to A-Level)
Firstly, we will establish what level you are currently working at through assessment, set an appropriate target, and then work towards achieving this in the most efficient way as possible.
Examples of activities in history/politics lessons:
* Knowledge recall activities such as flashcards, timelines, and quizzes.
* Going through past papers and mark schemes, and thoroughly planning and writing exam questions.
* Completing past exam papers and receiving live feedback.
* Correcting misconceptions and deepening understanding of historical or political content.
* Working on source and interpretation analysis.
* Completing more challening exam questions in conjunction with mark schemes to work on achieving the highest grades.
*Reading through model answers of varying levels to visualise what success looks like in the subject.
