About Diana Marcela
I am a Hispanic philologist from the University of Antioquia (Medellín, Colombia). I have skills and experience for oral and written communication in the Spanish language, as well as for its teaching, both formal and informal. I have worked in many spaces, both cultural and educational: libraries, museums, schools, universities, Spanish schools for foreigners and educational projects with communities. I love art, and working with people, for this reason, I am convinced that the best pedagogical tool is precisely art. Art connects us with the other and with ourselves, with the world that surrounds us in short. Ah! I also love to draw, paint, read and write.

1. My teaching methodology is through a basic, and very important, structure that includes the four pillar skills for learning a language: listening, speaking, reading comprehension, and written expression. All this I do through videos, songs, stories, current newspaper articles, writing texts and, very importantly, conversations. 2. Normally, in a two-hour session (which is what I suggest) I dedicate one hour to talk -and make corrections- on a particular topic, and the other to learn the grammatical aspects that are the basis. 3. The grammatical aspect that, as I mentioned, is the basis, is supported by the guidelines of the Common European Framework of Reference for languages. That is, I use my own material for each level, as stipulated and, in the same way, I do a sort of classification or leveling of the student, to know what type of subjects correspond to their needs or previous knowledge. Each level is divided into A, B and C, and in turn into sublevels: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2, with A being Basic, B Intermediate and C Competent. 4. Both the practical and grammatical parts are cross-referenced by current, cultural (learning about Colombian culture), artistic, scientific and any other topics that are also of interest to the student. 5. I really like that the class is fun and dynamic, that's why I put a lot of emphasis on the conversation, I try to make it fluid and friendly. For this same reason, I also focus on the preferences and tastes of the students.
