About Troy
Hi, I'm Troy :) I'm a 2022 IEB Matriculant currently taking a gap year and will be pursuing a degree in Financial Science and Investments in the near future.
In Matric and grade 11, I received multiple awards for my many Distinctions in Mathematics, Business Studies and Accounting.
During my time in Highschool, I was often the go-to person when other students were struggling to understand a specific concept in Mathematics or accounting, and have experience in tutoring Accounting at both highschool and university level. Previously I have helped one of my university students improve their mark by 40%.
Everyone learns and interprets concepts in unique ways and my goal is to provide my students with a learning experience that is tailored to their method of learning and interpretation.

In Highschool I was my class's go-to person when they needed help understanding complex mathematical or Accounting concepts. My teaching is aimed at all levels of Highschool Accounting from grade 8 to Matric as well as the secondary accounting courses that university students studying a Business degree are required to complete. I have experience tutoring BCom Marketing management students who are required to complete basic accounting courses as a part of their studies and I also assisted in teaching my matric accounting class certain concepts as our teacher at the time was unable to explain certain concepts to them in a way that they would understand. I believe that there is no value in simply re-teaching a concept in the same way as it is explained in a textbook and that it is important for students to gain a strong foundation of accounting concepts and have concepts explained to them in a way that makes sense to them rather than being expected to interpret a bland textbook definition.

I suffer from high ADHD and have been by alot of tutor's in the past. But troy is by far the best math tutor ive been to! Would really recommend him to anyone :)
Troy and I met almost 3 years ago in high school and I have always known him to be ambitious and highly motivated. He engages well with others and is always looking forward to teaching and helping those in need. Throughout the time I have known him he always helped our class peers in multiple ways but especially in an educational way. He would always make topics clearer to those who didn't understand and his help was always appreciated. Troy assesses how someone understands a particular question best and adapts to teaching them in the most simple way for them. He has the great qualities of a teacher and he would be an amazing tutor.
