About Phoebe
I am a first year student at the university of Sussex, working towards a doctorate in sociology. I have a passion and drive to tutor as I understand the frustration that comes from struggling in a subject, as well as not struggling but still wanting to excel. So whether you have no knowledge of the subject or are working at an A grade level, I understand your position and goals and strive to support you in reaching them.

I provide straight forward and easy to understand lessons that have shown to be time-effective and impactful in improving students grades. I aim to go further than simply improving grades, but to ensure each student feels confident in approaching questions and implementing knowledge to their greatest ability by being friendly and approachable- with a passion to see every student reach full potential. This is where students have the opportunity to flourish and truly take in information and feel confident to implement it in school work and exam settings, taking away their stress and worry around the subject. In my 7 years of teaching experience and 3 years of tutoring sociology specifically to a large variety of students, this I have found to be the most efficient approach in maximising student success, the ultimate goal.
Every student’s lesson is tailored to their specific needs and requirements to address their point of struggle and boost confidence where needed. Content can be revisited and questions are encouraged! Unlike other tutors I will ensure to be further accessible through and coming up to exam seasons, ensuring I am flexible with dates and times and be closely contactable to support students on an individual basis at what is the most stressful time of the year for many.
