About Tiago
I’m Tiago, a mathematics tutor with over 2,700 hours of experience across Explore Learning, Preply and private tuition. I specialise in Higher GCSE Maths and Pure A-Level Mathematics and hold a Grade A in Pearson GCE Pure Mathematics.
Alongside tutoring, I write mathematics articles and create proofs and visual explanations, reflecting my enthusiasm for the subject and for making challenging ideas accessible.
I bring a patient, thoughtful and structured approach to teaching. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and working through difficulties. Whether you are rebuilding confidence or aiming for higher grades, I will take your goals seriously and help you develop the understanding and independence to move forward.

I teach Higher GCSE Maths and Pure A-Level Mathematics, drawing on over 2,700 hours of tutoring experience across Explore Learning, Preply and private tuition. I hold a Grade A in Pearson GCE Pure Mathematics and create mathematical articles, proofs and visual resources.
My teaching focuses on helping students understand why methods work and how to apply them confidently. I use targeted questions to identify gaps in understanding, break challenging concepts into manageable steps and build from worked examples towards independent problem-solving. Where helpful, I use Desmos to bring graphs, functions and calculus to life.
Lessons combine a review of previous learning, focused teaching and carefully selected practice. Exam-style questions help students develop accurate working, clear reasoning and familiarity with assessment demands. Lesson length can be agreed to suit the student’s needs.
My lessons are suitable for Higher GCSE students, typically aged 14–16, and students studying Pure A-Level Mathematics, typically aged 16–18. Whether you want to rebuild confidence, tackle difficult topics or aim for higher grades, I offer patient, structured support adapted to your pace and goals.
