When tutoring students with math, I like to first explain the concept and any relevant formulas. By using practice problems, I model how to complete such questions. Then, I allow the student to complete their own problems, with varying levels of support, until they are able to solve it independently. Each iteration includes reteaching and enrichment of the concept that students may not have fully grasped.
