About Ross
I am an Alabama teacher dual-certified in Secondary Social Sciences & English Language Arts. I received my B.S. in Secondary Education from the University of Alabama and my M.Ed in Secondary Education from the University of West Alabama.
I am currently entering my seventh year as a public school educator. I served my first four years in South Alabama and my last two years in North Alabama.

History is something I have always been passionate about, even when I was a young student in elementary school. Now, as a teacher, I encourage my students to never accept everything as the truth without doing their own research on primary source analysis, which I build into my lessons.
I am available to tutor for high school and middle school students most afternoons/evenings. Subjects I specifically tutor for are US History 1 & 2, World History (pre 1500), Civics/Geography, World Literature (pre-1599), and World Literature (post-1600). For World Literature, my State Standards allow me to focus on teaching through Shakespeare and other works of literature. Works by Shakespeare include 'Romeo and Juliet,' 'Julius Caesar,' 'Macbeth,' and 'Twelfth Night.' Other works include 'Night' by Elie Wiesel, 'Animal Farm' by George Orwell, 'The Odyssey' by Geraldine McCaughrean, 'Everything, Everything,' by Nicola Yoon, and more.
Below is an example of a US History 1 lesson plan I used with my 10th-grade students. History lessons are structured similarly.
Discussion: Can average citizens change society? What do you think is the best way to get a society to accept reform?
