About Massilya
I am a dedicated maths and physics tutor with a strong academic background and clear, structured teaching approach. I achieved grade 9 in IGCSE Mathematics (Higher Tier) and grade 9 in IGCSE Physics (Triple Science), and have tutoring experience at both IGCSE and A-level. I place great importance on clear communication and maintaining a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring ideas. My lessons are well-organised, supported through my own personalised detailed notes and exam question booklets. These resources are tailored to understanding and what examiners are looking for. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to build confidence in problem-solving as well as obtain a long-term understanding in mathematics and physics. These skills are essential for success in later studies.

I teach maths and physics with a primary focus on deep understanding, not memorisation. I explain concepts visually through drawings, diagrams and analogies. Moreover, I convey these complex ideas using as simple language as possible. Once the concepts have been fully understood I move on to step-by-step worked examples and then gradually increase the difficulty of the questions. This allows students to build their confidence such that the student can eventually answer past paper questions under timed conditions. Moreover, I provide regular revision sessions in future lessons to ensure long-term retention. Lessons typically last 60 minutes which I believe is ideal for covering the material in enough depth. However, I can adapt the time according to the person's needs and goals. I have achieved 9's in both IGCSE higher tier maths and IGCSE triple science physics and have tutored classmates at both GCSE and A-level via zoom. The lessons are for IGCSE and GCSE level students from year 9-11. This includes both those who are preparing for their exams as well as those who merely seek a deeper understanding and to build their confidence in maths and physics.
