About Alena
I am a High School English Teacher with a Master's Degree in Teaching and an Undergraduate degree in English. I currently teaching 9th and 11th grade English, as well as AP Language and Composition. I have assisted writing and literature classes at the collegiate, and have tutored students from elementary through graduate classes. Because of these experiences, I know how to customize every lesson to each individual, and I believe that is what is most important when it comes to tutoring.

Typically, the first session will just be us discussing what it is you need. Then, I'll make a list based on this discussion and create a lesson plan/worksheets that are solely made for you and what you need to learn. I have a lot of flexibility in my teaching methods and am understanding that every person has a different way of learning, which is why none of my lesson plans will be the same for every student; however, that is what will make the tutoring sessions most productive!
