About Carlin
I'm an English and History teacher living on the South Coast of Sydney, having graduated from UOW and UNSW. I am currently working as a substitute teacher and working my way through a classical book list. I also help run a history tutoring group for homeschool kids, which is another big passion of mine.
I enjoy working out and eating well, video games and nerding out on history and culture.

I'm a qualified high school English and history teacher with a great love for reading, especially the classics (which I'm slowly working through myself!)
My lesson length and age range is flexible, anywhere from 30 minutes to 1.5 hours.
Ideal age range would be upper primary to year 10, but this is flexible too.
Approach to tutoring:
- First, I want to establish your goals and expectations: Why do you want tutoring? What does success look like?
Focus on reading:
- Comprehension, defining terms, meaning and analysis of texts
Focus on writing:
- Stimulus questions on different topics
- Meaning, analysis, grammar
- Essay writing - skeleton, PEEL, etc. (Point, Evidence, Explanation, Link)
All of this can be adjusted as needed. My goal is to be helpful.
