About Dylan
Hi! I’m an experienced high school economics tutor with a real passion for the subject. I scored 5s in both AP Macroeconomics and Microeconomics and have competed in national competitions, placing 2nd overall in the Junior Economics Challenge of Canada and in the top 20 at FBLA’s CNLC. I teach by making sure students truly understand concepts, encouraging them to explain ideas back to me, and combining this with practical exercises and full-length practice exams. My goal is to make economics fun, engaging, and directly relevant to both exams and real-world applications. I’m comfortable covering all core high school economics topics—microeconomics, macroeconomics, and market structures—and I tailor lessons to each student’s level and goals. Whether you’re preparing for class exams, AP courses, or competitions, I’m here to help you build confidence, master concepts, and enjoy learning economics along the way!

Teaching Methodology and Techniques: I focus on deep conceptual understanding and practical application. Students are encouraged to explain concepts back to me to ensure they truly grasp the material. Lessons also include practice-based learning through exercises and full-length practice exams, helping students develop problem-solving skills and confidence. Typical Lesson Plan: A typical session begins with a review of prior material, followed by introducing new concepts in an interactive way. Students then apply these concepts through guided practice, discussion, and problem-solving exercises. Each lesson concludes with practice questions or mini-assessments to reinforce understanding and track progress. What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor: I combine strong academic achievements with competition experience, having scored 5s in both AP Macroeconomics and Microeconomics, placed 2nd overall in the Junior Economics Challenge of Canada, and ranked in the top 20 in FBLA’s CNLC. Most importantly, I strive to make economics fun and engaging, connecting theory to real-world examples and practical scenarios. Who the Lessons Are For: My lessons are designed for high school students studying economics, including AP courses, and anyone preparing for exams or competitions. I can adapt lessons to different levels, ensuring each student builds a solid understanding and gains confidence in the subject.

Having Dylan as my older brother has been amazing, but having him as my guide and mentor has been next-level. From the very first time he sat down to help me with economics, I could tell he genuinely cared, not just about the concepts, but about me actually learning and growing. I wanted to get a headstart on learning the subject but I remember feeling completely lost at the start. However, Dylan patiently walked me through everything, made me explain it back to him, and pushed me to practice in ways that actually gave way for results.
What I love most is how he makes learning feel fun, like you’re figuring things out together. He plans everything so well, using practice exams, active recall, and hands-on exercises, but it never feels like school, rather it feels like learning with a friend who just happens to be your big brother. I’ve seen him do the same for students at FBLC, and it’s clear he’s motivated and genuinely invested in the success of his students.
Thanks to him, I don’t just understand economics concepts, but I’ve learned how to approach challenges and enjoy the process along the way. He will adapt his lessons based on the needs and abilities of his students and bring out the best in them. Dylan isn’t just a tutor -- he’s a true mentor and the best older brother anyone could ask for.I had the pleasure of being Dylan’s student in our school’s FBLC chapter, and he was an incredible guide throughout the competitions. At the start, I felt completely lost, but Dylan patiently explained the concepts in a clear and comprehensive way. His teaching style is engaging and confident, and he has excellent communication skills that make even complex topics easy to understand. Thanks to his guidance and encouragement, I gained the confidence to excel and ended up performing really well at Future Business Leaders of Canada’s CNLC event. I highly recommend Dylan to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, supportive, and motivating tutor!
