As a high school AP Biology teacher, I emphasize conceptual understanding, application, and critical thinking. A standard 60–90 minute lesson follows this structure:

Mini-Lecture / Direct Instruction: 10–15 minutes of focused content delivery using diagrams, real-world examples, and guiding questions.
Guided Practice / Activity: Labs, simulations, data analysis, or practice with FRQs (Free-Response Questions).
