I have known Shelly as a fellow swimming coach and teacher for over 20 years. We developed our swimming coaching career at the same time, and we spent many happy hours on courses, competition trips and conferences learning how to be the best. We spent time in the USA attending the national conference and then went to visit North Baltimore Aquatic Club for a week to observe the very best practice in developing a successful swimming club. We looked at the system that produced numerous Olympians including Michael Phelps, and were able to have first hand knowledge of the whole performance pathway - from how the learn to swim is structured up to the elite training squads.

Shelly is so passionate about what she does. She is very outgoing, and excels in getting the best out of each individual she works with. This is because she has an excellent eye for technique, she knows how to develop first class skills and understands how to coach the whole person.

She sets very high standards for both herself and her swimmers, and will always go the extra mile. I can honestly say she is the most reliable, trustworthy and hard working person I know. She is happy to work under her own instruction or as part of a team. She can always be relied on to step up when needed, and does not wait to be asked if she sees a job that needs doing.

She brings enthusiasm and fun to every session, and takes pride in doing the best job she can. She is very personable, has excellent communication skills and relates well to people of all ages and backgrounds.
