About Talha
I am a high distinction U of T graduate student at the Department of Physiology with aims of applying to medicine after I complete my project on cardiovascular diseases and their links with insulin. At the same time, I have been heavily involved around U of T community as a senior student journalist, which is why I have information regarding all the avenues at the biggest University in Canada, which I can teach any aspiring students. I have gone from having no outside experience in 1st year to a senior position at multiple student clubs and bagged multiple work study jobs, using skills I taught myself that I can bestow upon my students to save them time.

I am myself a passive learner who finds efficient ways to understand material by linking it with real life examples, which goes against the values and expectations set on kids to take multiple past tests to stand a chance on a course. I believe we build rote memorization through that way and not efficient methods of learning. Therefore, I focus on techniques such as mnemonics, imagery, method of loci, Pomodoro, etc., that have help me go from a 3.6 CGPA in first year of university to a 3.96 CGPA in the following three years. I have seen the lowest of the low and learned to climb back up. I did a year of my undergraduate at U of T from Pakistan, thus managing a 12 hour time difference and I have incorporated techniques to deal with mental stress in my teaching methods, which have worked for me.
