About Luz
I have always been passionate about learning, and I began my tutoring journey in high school about 10 years ago. My teaching approach is rooted in balancing structure with play to help students establish a deep and genuine appreciation for what they are learning.
It has always been deeply rewarding to me to help others learn, and I seek to continue helping young people with their academic success for as much as I possibly can.

With a BA in English and a concentration in Writing, Rhetoric, and Literacies, I've always had a deep love for language arts, which has been my personal strongest area in academics. I work on everything from proofreading and editing to phonics, reading, writing, and more.
My approach to test prep, whether for the ACT or SAT, is all about blending solid academic training with engaging, enjoyable lessons. I focus on personalized strategies and shortcuts that match each student's strengths, so they can make efficient progress and build confidence.
What I really aim for is to take the stress out of schoolwork and test prep, turning it into an exciting challenge. With my deep understanding of the test structures and requirements, I guide students in mastering the material while making the learning process enjoyable.
