About Todd
As a musician with over 20 years experience I graduated with a Bachelors of Education degree in 2000 and work in the public school system. As a teacher, I have taught students of all ages and subject areas including music, band and drama. I play guitar, drums, bass as well as sing and have done so since my teens. Since having children I have become very interested in how children embrace music and how easily they acquire comfort with instruments. It is my hope that together we can empower children of all ages to embrace the enjoyment and strength that music provides. Welcome to U Rock Academy!

U Rock Academy is a student centred music education program offering an introduction to the key elements of Rock and Roll.
Beginning with fundamentals of beat and rhythm, students of U Rock Academy will then be introduced to percussion using hand drums and a drum kit.
WIth the chchoosing the path, U Rock Academy will use the Ukelele as an introduction to string instruments providing instruction to fingering and strumming techniques as a lead into using guitar and bass.
Students will be given the opportunity to work with a microphone singing contemporary songs.
Using the musical scale and notes on the keyboard, students will then learn simple songs and while exploring the variety of sounds that can be created.
Once the basic skills are introduced, students will choose their own path using the instruments of their choice and work toward creating and composing their own composition. Once created, if they choose, they will have the opportunity to capture their creation using basic recording techniques.
