About Palak
Hello! I'm Palak, a passionate math teacher with over three years of professional teaching experience at a reputed math ed-tech company. I enjoy helping students build confidence in mathematics by making lessons engaging, interactive, and easy to understand. I believe every child learns differently, so I tailor my teaching to suit each student's pace and learning style while creating a positive and encouraging environment.
I currently teach Year 1 to Year 6 students, focusing on building strong mathematical foundations and developing problem-solving skills that prepare them for long-term success, including 11+ math preparation. Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading, watching movies, learning new things, and traveling. I look forward to helping every student discover that math can be both enjoyable and rewarding.

I believe that every child can excel in mathematics when concepts are taught in a way that makes sense to them. My teaching approach focuses on building strong mathematical foundations rather than encouraging memorization, helping students develop confidence, logical reasoning, and independent problem-solving skills. Every lesson is personalized to suit the student's learning pace and goals, with an emphasis on understanding concepts deeply before moving on to more challenging questions. A typical 60-minute lesson includes a mental math warm-up, interactive teaching of a new concept, guided practice, and a short quiz at the end to assess understanding and identify any areas that need further support. To reinforce learning outside the classroom, I provide daily worksheets designed to take around 20 minutes, helping students build consistency and retain what they have learned. I use visual models, real-life examples, games, and problem-solving activities to make lessons engaging and enjoyable while encouraging students to explain their thinking and develop confidence in their abilities. My classes are designed for Year 1 to Year 6 students following the UK National Curriculum, including those preparing for the 11+ math examination, as well as children who simply want to strengthen their mathematical skills. With over three years of professional experience teaching mathematics, my goal is not only to improve a child's performance in school and examinations but also to help them develop a genuine understanding and appreciation of mathematics that will benefit them for years to come.
