About Christopher
My name is Christopher Garis, I am a freelance film/video editor, cinematographer, and graphic designer based in San Diego, California. I frequently work with musicians, advertising
companies, school districts, and film crews. I've worked on multiple Emmy-award winning commercials and documentaries. I have a burning passion for visual storytelling and will spend the time (and cups of coffee) that it takes to bring projects to a high level of quality.
Over the course of my media career, I obtained four degrees at Palomar College and within six months, ended up teaching the class I had graduated from as an adjunct professor. Since then, I have established my own freelance production company and produced content for Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers as well as worked alongside other artists both local and abroad. The wide range of projects I have contributed to has resulted in an extremely diverse portfolio ranging from music videos, to real estate/architecture, to product promotions.
Continuing on, I obtained the lead editor position for Palomar Community College District, and I was granted the opportunity to become the internship coordinator for the Digital Broadcast Arts department alongside my teaching roles.
I function well under pressure and sometimes the random “curve balls” that come along with this industry are what make it exciting to come to work each day with a mission.
I have recently been producing video and photo content for animal focused non profit organizations such as SaveAFox and JAB (Judith A Bassett) conservation groups. Needless to say, I love animals of all kinds.
I pride myself in being versatile, wearing many hats, and putting in the extra mile to see projects be the best that they can be.

My approach to editing is 100% about the creative. Visual storytelling is a very powerful tool and can be used for so many things.
I have been teaching video editing for years and have been producing content generating millions of views. I have four degrees and am an Emmy Award winning editor from California currently teaching both college and high school levels. I am also an AI developer and can teach you how to use these super cool (and new) tools to elevate your projects.
