About Christian
I am a 26-year-old Queens College graduate who loves to teach and tutor children. I graduated from Queens College in 2021 with a Bachelors Degree in History and a Minor in Secondary Education (3.85 GPA). I come from a big family and I have helped my little sister and cousins with school work since I can remember. Growing up with many younger family members, I grew to love helping them with their homework, study on their tests, and see how far they had progressed through the years. That love for teaching is what led me to get my degree to become a teacher. My passion for helping children succeed is what I am most proud of, as well as my caring approach with every student I tutor.

I believe that every student is unique in the way that they learn. Unfortunately, in schools a lot of students are taught in a way that is not right for them. Thankfully through tutoring students can gain a much more personalized approach when it comes to their learning, and that is what I try to perfect. To me, it is not so much the student that has to adapt to the tutor, but the tutor to the student. As a tutor it is my job to teach my students in a way that will maximize their learning capability. In order to do so I first identify strengths and weaknesses of the student, as well as set goal both short term and long term. From there, I try various different methods of teaching to see what kind of learner the student is (Visual, Auditory, Or Hands-On). Then after assessing all of that I try to learn how much I can push my students, just enough that they are progressing and it is neither too easy or difficult. Most importantly for me is the relationship and rapport I build with my students throughout the tutoring process. I want my students to know that they can trust me and trust that I will always do what is in the best interest of furthering their education. My patience and understanding as a tutor I believe is my greatest tool and what sets me apart from other tutors. I truly care about my students and want the best for them.
