About Bridgette
Before I became a certified teacher I taught English K-12 at a tutoring facility. I then taught as a STAE tutor at the middle grades level. I received my English Master's degree from UNCW and then went on to receive my English Master's in teaching for grades 9-12 from UNCW as well. I later certified in middle school grades 6-12. I also taught English at the first-year college level. I love helping students of all ages!

-I use a variety of methods including direct instruction, leading by example, and personalizing lessons based on the student's needs.
-A typical lesson plan is set up like a classroom lesson but on a smaller scale. We have an introduction activity, a short lesson, an opportunity to work together, and then a chance for the student to practice the new concept on their own.
-What sets me apart is that I like to make learning interesting. This may mean picking a story that the student will like or giving them the chance to write a story I know they'll enjoy. It's my goal to help them realize English doesn't have to be painful; in fact, it can be fun!
-While I more recently taught English 1 and 2 high school, I have experience working with students of all ages.
-I have my master's degree in English 9-12. I also have experience teaching first-year English at the college level.
