About Holly
I have a deep passion for English following really inspirational and motivational teachers and although I am going into the legal profession, I would also love to teach and to help people to feel more confident in their speech and writing ability in English. I love to help people and I feel that this is the way I can use my skills best for this purpose. I have studied the work of Carol Anne Duffy, Harold Pinter, George Orwell and Robert Browning to name a few and this has provided me with analysis, critical thinking and evaluative abilities which I hope to pass onto others. I have also been inspired by books such as the Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood and To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee and this has encouraged me to write about and specialise in literature surrounding human rights, oppression and techniques in literature leading to the creation of these themes.

I have completed National Five, Higher and Advanced Higher qualifications in English to an A band one standard as well as other language-based subjects such as Higher French, Business, History, Modern Studies, Religious, Moral and Philosophical Studies and legal studies. The typical length of lessons provided would be up to an hour depending on the needs/ability of the lesson taker and the goals they have for their learning. I am dedicated and hard-working as an individual as well as punctual and passionate about this subject in particular. I have very recently left high school and therefore study tips and tricks for memorisation and accuracy are very much fresh in my mind in order for me to pass them on. Although this is my first attempt at tutoring, I have helped to explain many complicated concepts to peers as well as being involved in debate teams and other educational groups through which I have learned the art of constructive criticism and praise.
