Hello everyone, I am Luca. I offer tutoring in IB Economics and Biology. I recently graduated from Duke in Economics and Biology and IB in 2021 (43/45, IB Economics 7/7 and IB Biology 7/7).

About Luca
Hi! I grew up in Kenya and completed the IB Diploma in 2021, scoring a 43 overall with 7s in both IB Economics and IB Biology. I recently graduated from Duke University with a dual degree in Biology and Economics. I currently live in Washington, DC where I work in conservation and international development.
Having gone through the IB myself not long ago, I understand how demanding the program can be and I enjoy helping students break down complex concepts, build confidence, and approach exams and internal assessments more strategically.
Outside of work, I enjoy running, climbing, spending time in nature, traveling, and attempting (with mixed success) to learn the guitar. In the long term, I hope to work in international economics and continue exploring different parts of the world.

- I aim to help students feel more confident through guiding them and learning together rather than just teaching.
- I ask the student what they hope to achieve before the lesson so I can prepare.
- A typical lesson will involve working with the student through content and sample problems. At the end of the lesson, I will assign homework which I will review before the next session.
- I generally tutor IB Economics and Biology students but can also help with TOK, extended essays, IAs, and reviewing college essays.
