About Akifah
Hello! I'm Akifah, a Bachelor of Science (Hons.) graduate in Animal Resource Science and Management from UNIMAS and a Communications Officer in an NGO.
My academic background and professional experience in wildlife conservation, ecology, and community engagement have given me a strong foundation in Biology and Science. I have experience facilitating workshops, conducting educational programs and communicating scientific information to people from diverse backgrounds, which has helped me develop clear and effective teaching skills.
I believe every student can excel in science when concepts are explained in a way that makes sense to them. My lessons focus on understanding, critical thinking and building confidence, while keeping learning interactive and enjoyable.
I am committed to creating a positive and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing their scientific knowledge. My Approach to Tutoring & Teaching Methodology:
I believe mastering science should be straightforward and stress-free. My teaching technique focuses on breaking down complex biological processes and scientific concepts into simple, visual, and easy-to-digest explanations. Instead of relying on heavy, boring memorization, I use interactive Q&A and actual SPM-format question analysis. This helps students understand the why behind the facts, making it much easier to score high marks in both structured and essay questions.
Typical Lesson Length:
Lessons are typically 1.5 to 2 hours long. This provides the perfect balance: enough time to thoroughly cover a core science topic, practice past-year questions, and clear up doubts without overwhelming the student's attention span.
My Qualifications & Experience:
I have 2 months of hands-on teaching experience specifically covering SPM Biology and General Science. Because of my teaching experience, I am highly focused, energetic, and fully aligned with the latest SPM marking schemes and syllabus requirements. I offer a fresh, relatable perspective that helps students connect with difficult science topics easily.
