I have a MSc in Clinical Psychology and a BSc in Psychology from Swansea University. Following this, I am now working as a Psychological therapist using cognitive behaviour therapy, and working towards a PG Certificate in Low intensity psychological interventions.
During my time at Swansea University, I completed a dissertation focusing on body image and qualitative methodologies. I am currently adapting this dissertation for publication to a peer-reviewed journal. I have also presented this research at student conferences and published my abstract.
In regards to teaching experience, I was a tutor for fellow students. This required me to proof-read dissertations and essays ready for submission.
In my current job, I support patients with mild to moderate anxiety and depression using cognitive behaviour therapy techniques. This requires me to teach concepts of behaviour therapy and cognitive therapy, as well as ensuring their understanding and progress.
Throughout this experience, I have adapted different styles of teaching to suit the individual. I have also developed patience, knowledge and expertise in Psychology. I have also supported an international student with her dissertation, ensuring that her written work followed the grammatical rules of the English Language.
