About Mehr-un-Nisa Syed
I have always done well in school, which is primarily due to the style of teaching I was exposed. I want to help others the way my teachers helped me achieve the best grades possible. I also want to help my students gain confidence in themselves and not only teach them specific subjects, but also help them evaluate and employ different study techniques. I was in the same boat as many students on this forum only two months ago while I was sitting my final exams, and understand how stressful school can be and how sometimes certain concepts just don't make sense. However, I was able to make it through, with my sanity relatively intact, and wish to help others to not only make it through, but achieve the very best!

I think it's important for difficult STEM topics to be put in context, which helps with visualisation and understanding. This is the approach I try to take when teaching Biology and Chemistry, almost teaching the subjects like a story. With Maths, I always try to build upon the basics and try to break down complex problems. I am also a firm believer in that Maths only comes with practice and try to instil this in my students. My lessons typically range from one to two hours, however, I have had occasional four hour sessions based on the needs of my students. I have had three official tutoring positions so far, however, have peer tutored a number of people (all of high school age; 13 to 18 year olds).
