About Elina
Hello! My name is Elina and I am a 16-year-old student who has just completed her GCSEs. I love connecting with others and languages are my passion, hence the urge to teach languages to others! I am currently fluent in Mauritian Creole and English, and am currently learning Hindi, Spanish and German. I took Spanish and German at GCSE and consistently achieved grade 9s in both throughout my GCSE journey, and intend to take both in my post-16 studies, as I will be doing the IB-Diploma. I am also considering studying modern and medieval languages at University, as I believe being proficient in multiple languages sets you apart from other candidates in your future careers, as well as providing you with a deeper insight into multiple beautiful cultures. I look forward to teaching you!

My approach to teaching is fun, flexible and completely tailored to the student’s needs. Initially, I will assess the student’s proficiency, discuss their goals in learning Spanish and the best plan for me to support them as well as strengthening any weak areas they might have. The typical length of a lesson is one hour, however it could be more or less depending on the student’s needs. I can teach up to GCSE-level and therefore can teach those who are currently doing their GCSEs or want to learn Spanish to that standard. As I have only just finished my GCSEs, I have no formal previous experience as a tutor, however I have volunteered to help many students in my own school with their studies in Spanish, and they have seen significant improvement in their grades. I believe the best approach to learning a language requires not only discipline and consistency, but a drive and eagerness to learn, both of which I can provide. As I have said, my lessons vary depending on student needs, however I will always make sure they have a strong foundation of grammar and vocabulary. Even though I specialise in The Edexcel exam board, language abilities are universal, and are not just limited to exam boards, so I am willing to teach other exam boards too!
