About Alaa
My name is Alaa, and I’ve been living in the U.S. for the past 10 years, though I’m originally from Egypt. I’ve always excelled in math, starting from elementary school. In 8th grade, I completed Algebra 1, followed by Geometry and Algebra 2 in my freshman year, and Precalculus in my sophomore year. This year, I’m pursuing AP Calculus.
I understand that asking for help can sometimes be challenging, and finding the right support isn’t always easy. I’m a very patient tutor and can teach math from first grade up to Algebra 1.

Teaching Method and Techniques:
I focus on making sure students understand the basics before moving to harder problems. I use simple examples and break things down step by step. I also adapt my teaching style to fit the student’s learning preferences, whether they need visuals, detailed explanations, or practice problems.
Typical Lesson Plan:
Review – We start by going over what the student already knows or any homework they struggled with.
New Concept – I introduce new material, explaining it clearly with examples.
Practice Together – We solve problems together, with me guiding them through the process.
Independent Practice – The student works on problems while I help if needed.
Summary and Homework – We finish with a summary and optional homework to reinforce the lesson.
What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor: My strength lies in my ability to explain complex ideas in a simple and relatable way. Being both a student and tutor gives me a unique perspective—I understand firsthand the challenges students face, and I’m able to approach problems from their point of view. Additionally, my fluency in both Arabic and English allows me to tutor bilingual students more effectively, making sure language is not a barrier to learning. I am patient, adaptable, and committed to each student's growth, providing ongoing support and encouragement.

I can also offer assistance with other math subjects up to the Algebra 1 level.
