About Eva
I’m a queer nonbinary biology educator with a Harvard M.Ed. and more than a decade of combined experience teaching biology, psychology, and the science of learning. I’ve taught AP Biology, high school science, and undergraduate-level concepts, and I’ve also trained teachers and school leaders in research-based methods for helping students learn more effectively. This background allows me to bring both deep subject expertise and a highly skilled pedagogical approach to every lesson. My teaching is grounded in neuroscience, learning science, and the belief that students thrive when they feel safe, respected, and genuinely supported. I have extensive experience working with neurodivergent learners, LGBTQ+ students, international students, and adults returning to science after time away. I bring clarity, patience, and warm encouragement to each session, and I take time to understand what helps you learn best. What I love most about this work is helping students develop real confidence in subjects that once felt intimidating. I use clear explanations, structured guidance, and evidence-based study strategies to help you understand material deeply and retain it long-term. My goal is not only to help you succeed in your current course, but to strengthen your ability to approach challenging academic work with self-trust and curiosity.

My teaching style is warm, inclusive, and grounded in both neuroscience and the science of learning. As a queer nonbinary educator, I create a supportive space where students feel safe to be curious, make mistakes, and grow real confidence in challenging subjects. I especially enjoy working with neurodivergent learners, adult students returning to science, and anyone who has been underserved by traditional classrooms.
A typical lesson begins by clarifying your goals, then breaking down complex biology or neuroscience concepts into simple, structured explanations using diagrams, analogies, and active practice. I rely on research-backed techniques—like retrieval practice, spaced learning, and concept mapping—to help you understand material deeply and remember it over time.
What sets me apart is my focus on how learning works. I help you develop study methods that fit your rhythms, strengthen your problem-solving, and make difficult coursework feel manageable. My lessons are ideal for college students and adult learners studying biology, cell biology, physiology, neuroscience, or genetics.
