About Ines
Want to speak French with more confidence, without feeling like you are back in a stressful classroom?
I’m Ines, a Belgian French tutor based in Toronto. Before moving to Canada, I taught on Superprof Belgium, where I received excellent reviews and earned Superprof Belgium Ambassador status.
I speak four languages, study at Harvard University and being an immigrant in Canada myself, I know the struggles most immigrants face when learning a new language. I know what actually helps you progress, and what makes language lessons painfully boring.
My lessons are lively, practical and highly personalized. We can work on preparing you for language exams, or work on your academic, professional or everyday French, using songs, games, real-life situations and memorable tricks.
You will get a serious learning plan, but never a scary teacher. My goal is simple: help you speak more, overthink less and finally enjoy learning French.

My lessons are designed to make French feel useful, lively and much less intimidating than it may have felt at school!
We will learn through conversation, songs, videos, games, real-life situations and whatever helps your brain remember best. I adapt my explanations and activities to each student, because there is no single “right” way to learn a language.
Behind the fun, every lesson follows a clear and structured progression. I use the CEFR levels as a reference and draw on recognized French-language learning frameworks, including the skills assessed in exams such as the DELF, DALF, TEF (Canada) and TCF (Canada). This allows us to work toward a concrete level while keeping the lessons personal and enjoyable.
A typical lesson may include a short conversation, a practical topic, new vocabulary or grammar, and an activity to help you use what you have learned immediately. I will correct you with kindness and explain your mistakes without interrupting you every five seconds. The goal is for you to speak more confidently, not to make you afraid of getting things wrong.
As a quadrilingual student currently completing my studies at Harvard, I have spent years testing different language-learning methods both myself and the numerous students I've had through Superprof Belgium. I love finding the slightly unusual trick, song or example that finally makes something “click.”
My lessons are open to children, teenagers and adults, from complete beginners to advanced learners. Whether you are learning French for school, work, an exam, travel, immigration or simply for yourself, I will adapt the course to your level, goals and personality.
