About Dagny
I am a current MMSc student at Harvard Medical School studying Immunology and I previously completed my BSc in Biomedical Sciences student at UCL in London, specialising in Drug Mechanisms / Immunology. I have previously worked as a lab assistant at the Biozone Metabolic Engineering Lab at U of T, and while in high school completed Calculus (98% Average), AP Biology (94% Average), AP Chemistry (94% Average) etc, and graduated with a 97% overall average. I previously helped tutor both friends and younger students with Biology, Chemistry, Calculus (Grade 12) and Advanced Algebra (Grade 11 and 12).
In university, I have taken courses such as Human Physiology, Pharmacology, Developmental Anatomy, Chemistry, Biochemistry (Protein Structure and Metabolism), Microbiology, Immunology, Infectious Diseases, Statistics and Cell Biology. In these courses, I achieved a first-class average and I current am maintaining a 4.0 at HMS.
I have an expansive knowledge of both highschool and graduate level biology, as well as statistics, meaning I am able not only to give guidance and teaching on the high school level, but also provide a more in-depth experience for my tutorees.

My teaching methods are straight forward and I like to start a session by going over homework or concepts that a student needs to know or that they are struggling with - this is so, right from the beginning, I have an understanding of what my tutorees need from me in terms of learning.
I believe in a problem-based learning technique, where example questions (such as homework questions) can be used to build a stronger understanding (through application).
In terms of what services I provide through my classes, I provide an explanation of topics and concepts, summaries, help with homework questions, and questions a student might have on a topic. As I am taking university-level Biology and Biochemistry courses and due to my previous AP courses, I am comfortable helping all students taking lower-level sciences courses (Grades 7-9), to higher-level sciences, like AP Biology or Biology, in grades 10, 11 and 12.
I am available only as a video tutor at the moment and am able to tutor via Skype, Discord, Facetime, email (for questions), and Google Chat (chat or video).

Details
My rate may differ based on the workload dependant on each tutoree (for example, if a student requires more in-depth classes, they may cost slightly more). However, this is up to discussion and will never be changed without a discussion with the tutoree/client.
In terms of cancellation, either me or the tutoree/client may cancel at any time - there is no obligation to continue tutoring. I especially understand that there may be cancellations due to the uneasy situation caused by COVID-19, whether financially or otherwise.
