About Amber
Amber grew up in Boston, Massachusetts, where her fascination with the natural world led her to pursue a degree in human evolutionary biology at Harvard University. Graduating with high honors, Amber's published her senior thesis on primate behavior, marking the beginning of her research journey. Her early work focused on the social impacts of infant mortality among bonobos in Africa. She later conducted field studies in Paraguay, analyzing the behavioral and ecological patterns of wild howler monkeys and supporting local conservation strategies. Now, as a PhD student at Emory, Amber's work seeks to uncover the social and biological mechanisms of aging and health in wild chimpanzees. At Emory University, she has taught statistical inference, science communication, and evolutionary medicine.
