About Andrew
I am an experienced Piano tutor with 15+ years of teaching experience, helping school students, college students, and working professionals develop their musical abilities. I believe piano learning should be clear, practical, and enjoyable.
I start by understanding the learner's current skills, musical goals, interests, learning preferences, and practice availability. This helps me design lessons that are suitable for their level and allow them to make steady progress.
I teach piano fundamentals, posture, finger exercises, hand coordination, scales, chords, rhythm, music theory, note reading, sight-reading, ear training, song practice, improvisation, and performance skills.
I combine explanation with practical playing. I use demonstrations and simple examples to help students understand difficult topics. I also encourage learners to explore songs that match their interests.
My teaching philosophy focuses on patience, communication, flexibility, understanding, and positive encouragement. I create an environment where students can ask questions, make mistakes, and learn without fear.
I also teach effective practice methods. I guide students in setting realistic goals, managing practice time, focusing on difficult areas, and reviewing their improvement.

My piano teaching methodology combines Adaptation to Learning Styles, Flexibility, Collaboration, and Positivity. I believe piano lessons should develop both musical ability and the confidence to express ideas creatively.
I first understand the student's current skills, musical interests, preferred learning style, and goals. I then choose suitable exercises and pieces that challenge the student while keeping learning enjoyable.
I teach posture, hand position, finger control, notes, rhythm, scales, chords, sight-reading, ear training, and musical expression. I use demonstrations, written examples, listening exercises, repetition, and practical playing.
When students struggle with a topic, I change my teaching method and explain it in a simpler way. Flexibility allows me to adjust the lesson pace and difficulty according to individual progress.
I encourage collaboration by allowing students to share musical ideas, choose suitable songs, discuss challenges, and participate in setting practice goals.
My positive teaching style helps students feel comfortable experimenting with music. I encourage them to learn from mistakes and celebrate steady progress.
In addition to piano, I can teach music theory, keyboard fundamentals, rhythm, chords, sight-reading, ear training, basic composition, and music appreciation. My goal is to develop confident, creative, and expressive piano players.
