About Savannah

Have a hard time learning history, or do you find it boring? Our class is filled with constant engagement and tailored to your personal needs. I love hearing feedback on my teaching or things they would like me to teach, add, or change. When you complete it fully, you expect an award, my friend! I love rewarding all my students and making sure they reach the success they deserve. Orientation is easy peasy! It's our time to get to know you, build that great connection, and help you understand what you need in your journey. This tends to be super quick, so if you're an introvert, no worries. It's, however, as long as you make it. I just need a few questions answered and done. From here, your journey will begin. If you would like a parent present, by all means join. All questions are allowed. Even ones you may think are stupid, as long as it's relevant to the subject. It shows me that you're trying to think deeper, which I love!

I welcome all ages from 1 - 12th grade, whether for fun, more help, or extra study resources. I understand that history can be boring and become like just a bunch of dates to most. Growing up I had boring history teachers, and I vowed never to be one. History to me is like a giant story book of everyone's lives, and how we evolved and learn from things, and things we may not have learned yet. Which is why I am patient and involve myself in getting to know my students' interests and what they struggle with the most. Whether it may be retaining dates, doing homework, preparing for tests/quizzes, etc. I believe that all students learn differently, whether visually (seeing), auditorily (hearing), kinesthetically (hands-on), or all. Depending on a person's needs, I will base my lesson plan on that. The info that I teach based on the class chosen will remain the same, except for my techniques. As a student myself, I know how important it is to have a good teacher-student relationship. Going through school myself, learning was never made to be fun, which is why we have a harder time retaining that knowledge, or strongly dislike doing it. Not this class, though! Games, music, flashcards, practice quizzes/tests, awards, etc will be here for my students' benefit. One and one will be recommended if the parent/guardian/teacher prefers. Nothing is done without permission, though. I have a strict no-cursing policy, no yelling (only in excitement or told otherwise is allowed) or bullying in my class. 3 strike rule on that.

If you have to cancel a class or session, let me know in advance, please. Preferably 2 hours before the session. 3 unexcused absences will result in a cancellation fee of $5. Notes and review sheets for extra practice are optional. All you will need is yourself and a computer. I have everything prepared. If a student wants just one-on-one help, the price just rises to $17 per hour. I try not to charge a lot, and I am very reasonable and willing to make exceptions for those who have financial aid.
