About Phil
Hi! This is Phil Taylor a guitarist and musician. I have been teaching guitar for over 20 years, both peripatetically in local schools/colleges and at home/online. I trained as a guitarist at the Royal College of Music and offer lessons tailored to each student's interests and goals. I’ve supported many students through exams with ABRSM, Trinity College and Rockschool, with many achieving Distinction passes. I teach from beginner level all the way up to Grade 8/Diploma Level and beyond. I have a great deal of experience as a professional guitarist, performing gigs/residences and at music clubs/festivals.

I have a genuine passion for teaching. I believe that learning should be informative and fun, and that each pupil should be treated as an individual. I strive to bring out the best in all my students and help them to reach their full potential. My attitude to teaching is positive, patient and consistently encouraging. Lessons will be typically 30 minutes long, though I also offer 45 minute and 1 hour sessions, depending on what is required. I have over 20 years' experience as a teacher. I possess Grade 8 Distinction in guitar. I teach all different musical styles, all ages, levels and abilities.
